Fall Less-Casual

Hi again,

As promised, here is the second part to my post! The same outfit, just a little more dressy!
Short booties are perfect for fall.
The simplest way to dress an outfit up? With heels of course!
The necklace is actually centered in this one.

Booties: Target, $24.99

Thanks for tuning in!

Fall Casual

Hey all!

With the start of school, it is time to look at fall outfits! I love this time of year, just because you can do so many things with your clothes! Here is a very casual outfit. It is the same sweater that I wore in my previous post (recycling clothes like a normal person).

Fall Outfit!
Very simple, very chic outfit. Something that can be worn to the store, to class, or even for a coffee shop date. :)

Sweater: Forever 21, see previous post
Jeggings: H&M, $19.95
Boots: Target, $27.99
Necklace: Forever 21, $2.99
Another post coming up with how to make this outfit more dressed up!

Thanks all,
Yuliya

Easy Skate

Hi all!

Quick and short little post here. A very easy outfit, perfect for a cooler day in the summer!

The neon yellow is a great headturner, but the shorts make the outfit super casual.

Sweater: Forever 21, $8.99
Shorts: Bershka, Ukrainian store I don't remember the name of, $???

Sassy look not included
The vans add that extra touch of "hipster"/"skater". I could hop on a skateboard and no one would think I was out of place ;)

Thanks!
Yuliya

Citrus-Glazed Blueberry Scones

Hi again!

Last night I baked for the first time in quite a while! I wanted to share the recipe with you guys, just because it was so easy to make, and the results were delicious. I originally found the recipe in a Lake Superior magazine, but I adjusted it to fit my needs.

Don't they look scrumptious? They tasted great too.

Citrus-Glazed Blueberry Scones

Makes: around 12
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15-20min
Glaze: 10-15min

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup (half stick) butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk or heavy cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1-2 cups (depending on preference) blueberries
  1. Preheat oven to 400 F. In large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in butter using a fork.
  2. In another bowl, mix egg and buttermilk. Add to flour mixture.
  3. Roll blueberries in a bit of extra flour and fold into batter.
  4. Drop large tablespoons on an ungreased cookie sheet or parchment paper. Bake 15-20min until golden.
  5. Cool before adding glaze.

Citrus Glaze

2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1-1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (to taste)
2 citrus fruits (lemons, clementines, oranges, etc) zested to taste and juiced

Mix all ingredients into bowl. Top scones with glaze, and let harden.

The glaze is completely optional. On the second day, I have found that the scones are not quite as crispy as when they were first out of the oven, but they still have a great taste. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for visiting,

Yuliya

Office Workaholic

Hola amigos!

Crazy how fast summer is flying by! Work has made this summer go so fast. Although I don't work at an office job, I like to imagine what I would wear if my dress code was a little more formal. (Not a city tshirt and athletic shorts). This blog post is dedicated to that! So here we are with some neutral basics:

Although I'd wear flats to be more comfortable and appropriate!
Love how the skirt has faux leather on it! Makes it a great transition piece from summer to fall!

Top: Naked Zebra, TJMaxx, $12.99
Skirt: Joe Benbasset, TJMaxx, $12.99
Heels: Lauren Conrad, Kohl's, $44.99
Satchel: Steve Madden, TJMaxx, $29.99
Watch: Burgi, Christmas Gift, $???

To add some polish to the look, I opted for a low pony. I made sure there was some volume at the crown, so it didn't look lackluster and bleh.

The look without the bag.
Hope you enjoyed it!
